The shape of the stone dictated the overall, angular thrust of this carving. I composed the smaller shapes to harmonize with the upward and forward moving shape of the original stone. I used pigmented wax to emphasize the dark grooves of tool marks and the inner corners of the sculpture. The tool marks add to the sculpture's vibrational energy.
