This was the first sculpture I created in the "Mountain Women" series. On my morning walks in the village of Escazu, Costa Rica I kept noticing that the mountains named Pico Blanco and La Cruz resembled a partly reclined woman. One day I had one of those Aha!/Eureka moments—I should make a sculpture of the mountains that is also a woman. This one shows a little of the influence of the work of Costa Rican sculptor, Francisco Zuniga, whose work I had been admiring.
