Synchronicity

Synchronicity
Bronze. 48 inches.

This piece was commissioned by the children of John and Phyllis Smale to commemorate their fiftieth wedding anniversary. The Canada geese are symbolic of mating for life, Canada, and taking long journeys together. The birds' two overlapping wings become one in this composition conveying their unity. The abstract wave form at the base spirals upward. The spiral is a never-ending line. Lines from the base are carried over onto the wings, their crisscrossing further unifying the individual birds. This piece is near the intersection of Fifth and Sentinel Streets in downtown Cincinnati and in private collections in Marathon, Florida and Canada. It is mounted on a four foot granite base.
